Patinated Bronze Knife
This knife is a lost wax casting in bronze taken directly from a dagger dated at around 1500 BC. The original knife belonged to Ewart Oakeshott who kindly lent it to me to reproduce.
The heavy use that the blade has seen on one side contrasts the other, almost untouched and surprisingly sharp edge. The notched edge was most likely used for chopping bone, whilst the keener edge for slicing and cutting meat.
